This course unit continues providing knowledge about tenses. The past tenses include Simple past, Past continuous, Past perfect and Past perfect continuous. The formation of past tenses is similar to that of present tenses except that the past tenses relate to the past and the auxiliary verbs ‘to be’ and ‘to have’ in the present tense is used in the past when forming past tenses. The unit describes the relevant structure, usage of the past tenses and ideas for activities to that can be used in the classroom. The grammar points contained in the unit helped me to refresh my memory of the past tenses that I have already learnt as a student.
