In this unit, I learned about the four different past tenses, when they are often used, and how to explain their usage to students. I also learned common errors students might make when studying the past tense, and how to help correct those errors. I learned about past simple tense, past continuous tense, past perfect tense, and past perfect continuous tense. I also learned about verbs that are irregular in the past tense, and it helped me learn how best to approach teaching irregular past tense verbs to students. After completing this unit, I feel comfortable talking about the past tense, and believe I could explain the different types of past tense to a student struggling to grasp these complicated concepts.
