Jeremy Harmer introduced an effective method that helps students feel motivated, exposed to language and thus have the opportunity to use it. It's called ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) method. This approach gives the teacher a great deal of flexibility in the classroom. During the engage stage we should ensure that every student speaks English. Moreover, the main aim is to have high student talk time with everyone contributing. During the activate stage students are learning new language concepts. Activate stage allows students to show their creative side while using English language.
