I was able to grasp an understanding of the multiple methodologies used in teaching and how they each have their own pros and cons. I had previously believed that the Grammar-translation method was the most useful method when teaching a new language, but I now understand that is not always the case. Finding equivalents between languages may be helpful, but the student ends up learning about the language rather than learning the language itself. This new information helped me rethink my previous opinions about methods for teaching English.
