The take-away idea(s) from this section is that while there are many methods of teaching a language, a variety used in one lesson is best, thus the ESA method. Students are more likely to learn the content presented to them if study and production are both involved in the same lesson. For teachers, knowing the varying methods of language teaching help to understand how to best present a foreign language to students, and to remind both students and teachers that the language being learned may not always directly translate to their native language, but there are ways of making connections between the two languages for fuller comprehension.
