To summarize what this course has taught me cannot be accomplished in just a paragraph or two. However, this course has enlightened me and made me aware of what is expected of me as a teacher. I now have a better understanding what to expect and what I need to address in order to make myself a better teacher.
The self-assurance and confidence that this course has provided me is the most important lesson learned. Of course, the other lessons, assets and resources acquired from this course are too innumerable to count, but I will attempt to summarize here. First, the ESA class/lesson model has proven to be invaluable for a new teacher like me. Second, by taking this class I had to take a look at some english grammar, sentence structure or punctuation that I hadn't looked at in years. Third, the video in lesson ten provided me with a standard or model to aspire for and it also gave me a model to avoid. The incorporation of the video is much appreciated. Four, this course material is a resource in itself. I plan to keep this course around for years – if not my entire career. The tables or worksheets that you had me construct for homework will serve as quick reference material. Five, the course material included many hyperlinks to online resources. The fact that you advised me of these resources alone was worth the price of this course.
I look forward to applying the lessons learned from this course. Taking this course has inspired me, invigorated me and stimulated me to the extent that I cannot wait to get into the classroom. I am eager to prove my capabilities as a teacher. I am an organized person, but having a lesson plan sheet similar to the one that you provide in the course will help me maintain and organize my lesson plans in a more professional manner. The information and training that I received from this course may not substitute for years of experience, but I do believe that this course will prove my commitment to excellence, professionalism and diligence.
