Teach English in Whitbourne - TEFL Courses
I have gained so much from taking this course. I truly feel that I can teach english confidently and effectively. I also learned a lot about myself through this course. It has helped me learn how to organize my thoughts and improve my study habits. I know that I am a better person because of it.
Walking into this course, I feared that it would take copious amounts of effort. I also thought that it would require a ridiculous amount of work. I was nervous because I'm actually pretty bad at english structure. You may have guessed this. I realize that my explanations may not have been the most thorough. I struggled with the motivation to improve my english. Throughout the course, I was able to think and learn about english in a whole new light. I found that I really can relate it to science or math; things that I really want to learn about. I relate it through the human interaction and the learning processes involved in teaching a course. This really opened my eyes. It wasn't that I read this from any of the units, I was able to read between the lines; seeing how it all connects.
I was able to practice my new-found knowledge in my classes that I teach and was floored by what an unmistakable difference it made. The students respected me more and started enjoying my classes. This helped my self-esteem a lot. I actually enjoyed working on the units from that point on. This was a huge step for me. I have never enjoyed any job so much that I wanted to be so much better at what I do. It was all starting to come together. I remember the moment I realized this. I thought to myself, “I am a good teacher, but I can be a great teacher.” It was then that I knew I could get through the units and really dive deep into the english structure and the new material I could teach. It made all the difference.
I have never understood english structure (mostly grammar) until now. I have always thought, “I don't know why it is… it just is.” Now I can actually explain to a student why a part of english structure is the way it is. I understand that I don't know everything about english, but I definitely know the basics, and I know them well.
I am really glad that I took this course and it has made me all the better. I will take pride in saying that I can officially teach english in any country in the world. The best part is, this is only the beginning of the journey.
