I have learned a great deal. I have learned english grammar which was not taught when I went to school. I have learned about the structure of english language. I have had the opportunity to think about how words, phrase and expressions are used in everyday english conversation. I have learned how to structure lessons, the value of carefully planning lessons and the importance of being thoroughly prepared. I have been challenged to use my imagination to conceive of different ways to explain language, and to hold students' attention. I have been shown where to find a wide range of resources to help prepare lessons and supporting materials. I have been given loads of teaching ideas covering a wide range of different aspects of english language. I have been given a theoretical structure to help me work out how best to explain concepts and ideas to students of all levels. I have also found the course really fun and interesting and find myself motivated and inspired to build on the really solid foundation the course has given me. I have also been given the confidence to try different things and ideas. I am currently committed to a statutory role but when my warrant expires I will be seeking teaching opportunities, and the knowledge and skills I have gained doing the course will provide an excellent springboard for beginning the teaching journey.
