This course has taught me quite a lot about how to improve myself as a teacher. From the basics of knowledge to turning teaching into an extremely engaging yet rewarding activity, has been a wonderful experience. The tutor help has been outstanding too as Tania was very encouraging about the answers I gave and anytime they lacked detail, she was kind and polite in pointing out my mistakes and adding more points to my answers. It has made me realise that the correct way to beginning a lesson is to engage students into some kind of activity so that it captures their attention and they are able to understand and stay interested in the topic. It is after this stage that students need to be apprised about the main theme of a lesson. Teaching is less about teaching and more about handing down information to students in an effortless way. From now on, my focus would be on initiating every class with an activity of some sort. Bringing in some kind of an aid, like a picture, would also help in making students learn a lot.
