I agree with the fact that you dont always have to follow the textbook and only use that when you teach. To use for example a menu when teaching the students about different food items seems more practical and engaging than just repeating words over and over again. With an excersice like that they can put it into context and enable the usage of words the way it is supposed to. Textbooks are useful as a guide to what the students need to learn but I feel it should be used more as a reference of what the students should learn.
