One can visually see action verbs (playing, working.) State verbs usually cant take a progressive form. Auxiliary verbs help forms structures such as questions and negatives. Verbs tell us what tense the sentence is in. When changing work forms, one must make sure to notice the vowel and consonant pattern. With one syllable words ending with consonant, vowel, consonant, the last consonant is doubled. With two syllable words, when the stress of the syllables is at the end, with a pattern of consonant, vowel, consonant, the last consonant is doubled when adding 'ing' or 'ed' When a one syllable word ends with a 'y' and the letter Before it is a consonant, add 'ing' with no further changes. Although when adding 'ed' one must drop the 'y.' Adjectives describe nouns. When using nouns, the order must be;age, color and then material. One syllable adjectives with an end pattern of two consonants, add 'ed' or 'est' with no further change. However, with a one syllable adjective ending in consonant, verb, consonant, one has to double the last consonant before adding 'er' or 'est.' With all other two or three syllable adjectives, we keep the adjectives the same but add a pronoun. Some irregular adjectives have to change altogether. (good, better, best) Adverbs are describing words which can be set out in these categories; Manner- how Place- where Time- when Frequency- how often degree- describes A preposition shows the relationship between the noun/pronoun to the rest of the sentence.
