This unit covered parts of speech. While I had learned parts of speech in the past, it was a nice review of the material. I was reminded that a gerund is a verb ending in -ing, an infinitive is the basic form of the verb, and I learned the difference between a transitive and intransitive verb. This unit is about grammar, particularly about the parts of speech. These include nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions. This unit's focus was upon the basics of English grammar. While in daily usage it comes naturally to most speakers, like many other people I find myself needing "refreshers"" as to the names of the parts of speech
