As I was reading this unit and taking notes, I realized that I still remembered much of this information from years ago from grade school all the way through high school. It was then that I noticed I remembered much of this from general repetition of information and practice of application, rather than from reviewing it only once.
I think that to teach this, it would be best to cover the lesson from many different angles like my teachers did. This would allow the students to get into the habit of thinking and deciding when to the correct sentence items much the same way I did, verses just teaching them the principal of the information and expecting them to apply it correctly moving forward. Practice makes perfect!
