I think the introduction to this unit sums it up perfectly. We use the English language from day to day but we are very rarely aware of how the language is structured in our day to day lives. In this unit I have both refreshed myself on the basics of grammar i.e nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and prepositions but also learnt a great deal of the depth of the language looking at more specific cases of grammar. For example countable nouns, uncountable nouns, proper nouns, transitive verbs, superlative adjectives, and gerunds. I feel with a better understanding I am able to further benefit the students I teach and give them a better understand of the English language as this unit has done for me.
