Unit 2 breaks down clauses and sentences to the smallest grammatical units. Every word has a specific function in relation to the sentence where it is found and being able to appreciate it, describe it and communicate it to students is an important task for a language teacher. Among the things that I have learned, the fact that the same word can be defined as a different grammatical entity according to the context. I have also understood how sometimes there are no definitive rules to a correct sentence structure: many exceptions require sensitivity to the language and need be individually studied or learnt through experience.
