Unit 2: Parts of Speech introduced the basic aspects of English grammar. The basic aspects of English grammar include nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions and conjunctions. Even though I am a native English speaker, I wouldn?t have been able to properly identify each of these parts of speech prior to completing this unit. Upon completion of this unit, I am now able to properly identify each of these parts of speech. Furthermore, I found it interesting that I use these parts of speech unconsciously everyday, yet I feel as though I have never heard of a gerund! Lastly, I found this unit rather dense and being able to teach the parts of speech (including all of their exceptions) will definitely be a challenge.
