This unit was a refresher course on the different parts of speech that we may knowingly or unknowingly use on a daily basis, and the reasons why we implement them. Using very basic sentences as an archetype, this unit served as a reminder of grammar specifics I have forgotten about such as gerunds, prepositions, and conjunctions. It was a good way to remember the basics of grammar. It is very useful, because most of the times we are talking without even recognizing these parts of speech. We should keep this in mind while explaining the basic rules to the learners. It is always useful to repeat the forms of the verbs, the sentence structure. This unit was an excellent refresher of basic grammar with a few things I'd never learned Before. Specifically, I had never known the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs before. It is clear that more study will be required before I am confident teaching a class, especially in remembering all the many tenses.
