While English grammar is logical, it can be quite confusing as to where to put certain parts of speech in the sentence such as prepositions and adverbs. Knowing how to match up a definitive article or indefinite articles with countable or uncountable nouns can be especially be tricky. A lot of English grammar truly does depend on context. To teach this well explaining it will be very important. What I think is even more important is to try to teach it to a student in a way that it he can understand the more complex parts of grammar with intuition similar to what I developed learning it as my native language. Although this is impossible to achieve to perfection because the student's native language is not english, achieving this goal to any degree will most likely make his language learning experience far more effective and enriching.
