Our 60-hour course provides a solid introduction to TEFL, making it a particularly popular choice for people looking for an insight into Teaching English as a Foreign Language, as well as those who are planning to work as a teaching volunteer. One of the many popular features of this online course is that you are given a great deal of flexibility to proceed at whatever pace you set for yourself. Another benefit of completing the course is our unique support service that you can utilize for 1 year.
After completing the registration process you will receive an email containing the log-in details that will take you to your personal, restricted area of our online course system. From this system you will be able to access the course materials which you can choose to either study online or download to your own computer.
Once you have studied the materials that accompany each unit, your understanding of its contents will be assessed before you move on to study the next unit. There then follows a final essay writing task to be submitted for review. Upon successful completion of the whole course, you will graduate.
TEFL Course Aims
The 60-hour course aims to give you a solid introduction to the world of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. The materials have been designed to give you all the essential skills and knowledge you will need to start out on your TEFL journey.
Please note that many employers will insist on their teachers having a certificate of 120 hours or more (see our 120-hour certificate course here).
TEFL Course Content
As this is an introductory level course, the written materials included only focus on the teaching skills that you will need to plan and present a successful lesson in the classroom. The subjects covered include teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate your students’ progress. The shortened format of the course does not allow time to cover language awareness and certain other important components that are included in our 120-hour course.
The course materials are divided into ten units that have been designed to gradually build your knowledge, without overwhelming you with an excessive amount of information in one go. Thanks to this convenient structure you should find that you are able to comfortably work through the course at a pace that suits your circumstances and learning style.
