Through this unit, I have learnt many grammatical terms in parts of a speech. There are a total of 8 broad types - nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, and prepositions/conjuntions. Most of thsese are familiar to me. However,some of which may have already been forgotten from school days and is quite confusing to me. In particular, the definition and identifying of transitive/non transitive verbs and gerunds.
From this unit, I realized how I may be able to speak/write reasonably good English but not entirely familiar with all the different grammatical terms and rules. This must be brushed up upon for me to be a good teacher.
