Unit 5 is all about classroom management. The first topic that comes up is eye contact, gesture and the voice which are necessary components for every teacher to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. Within this section is discussed situations for/how to use eye contact, good use of gestures, and being conscious of your voice and how you project based on the environment and stimulating students to learn. The unit also discusses grouping strategies with pros and cons for each, classroom arrangement, board writing etiquette, individual attention, teacher and student talking time, giving instructions, establishing rapport, and maintaining discipline.
