I learned a lot! There was such a wealth of information in this chapter. I learned about the 4 major schools of thought in language learning (such as the Maturation-ists and the Environmentalists). I also learned about the different ways to teach 5-9 year old students (with less emphasis on instruction, and more emphasis on student engagement) compared to 9-13 year old students (more emphasis on instruction, because they are older). I learned more, but those are a few of the ones that really stood out.
