It is important to take on many different roles in the classroom throughout the unit. Building a rapport with students is paramount because students need to trust you. Sometimes direct instruction needs to be delivered so students can see it being modeled. Other times, a teacher need to be a facilitator of activities offering help when needed. Lastly, a teacher needs to be constantly assessing student progress throughout their learning journey. Good learners need to feel safe in their learning because they have to take chances and feel comfortable with mistakes.
