In this unit I learned to be aware of your mannerisms, gestures, dress code and other cultural differences. When going to teach abroad, it is essential to research the cultural issues of the region before you go to teach. When not sure, always be more conservative until you are familiar and feel comfortable with the way of life in that country and the people's mindset of what is expected of foreigners. Keep your political ideas to yourself! This unit also talks about finding employment either by advertising online or posting your CV on specific websites. If you are already in a foreign country and you want to find a teaching job then it is always better to look in the local newspapers or look for jobs through someone you may already know in the area. Also, going in person to check out the school is better (because they see you in person) rather than being miles away. Tips were also given on resume writing and know what to do and not to do when teaching younger young learners as opposed to the older young learners. Teenagers like to be treated as adults, whereas the younger age group, like movement, song and have a shorter attention span.
