I learned that between teacher and student, there are various types of roles that each person should take in the classroom. For example, the teacher should be responsible to know when he or she should be manager/controller, organizer, assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, resource/facilitator, model, or observer or monitor. Learners should be additionally responsible for their level of motivation, nervousness, language awareness, behavior problems, life experience, and be culturally aware of where they are in English speaking classroom. The most unique thing that I learned were the different levels of abilities in the English language including beginners, elementary, low/pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, and advanced.
