I learned about the factors in selecting the appropriate vocabulary to teach students. I never thought much about how appropriate it would be to the task or the student. I need to think more about the teachability of vocab. I teach so many different ages of students that I forget that a student in elementary school won't always have the same vocab knowledge as a junior high school student. I liked reading the different ESA lessons for teaching vocab, grammar, and language functions. I never knew what a language function is. I now know it involves the way of talking and how to invite others, to agree/disagree, and more. I enjoyed learning about the language functions the most.
