This unit covers tactics for teaching new aspects of language, such as vocabulary or grammar. What surprised me most is how it ties into the ESA structures presented earlier. Vocabulary naturally fits the more straight arrow approach, since they are largely straight-forward concepts to introduce and then reinforce. Functions (such as agreeing, disagreeing, etc), on the other hand, call more for patchwork ESA structures to fit the more complex ways they're used.
