I find the tenses a struggle but appreciate that clear directions and guidelines to recognize them within sentences, the usages I struggle with a little, maybe simpler sentences to start with rather going right into complex or compound sentences. Sometimes the usage description doesn't quite match my impression of what is being communicated. I wonder if following present tense right away, rather than having another unit in between would have been more helpful.
