Our students are diverse in their cultures and ethnicity, their experiences, their learning styles, and many other dimensions. Students from different cultures, backgrounds and educational environments learn in distinctly different ways. And all of these dimensions shape who they are and how they learn. Effective teachers understand this and use a variety of teaching methods to promote student learning. Teaching students from variable cultures and nations is a true challenge. The teacher must have high knowledge in these cultures and countries to avoid discussing hot topics and to concentrate on what it is acceptable for all and to unite them. The teacher's main goal is to provide equal opportunities for school learning to students of different gender, race, social class, coming from different cultures and ethnic groups. Learning foreign languages is quite challenging. There are many factors that make learning so complicated: misunderstanding grammar, difficult spelling, issues with pronunciation, etc. Cultural background and learners’ native languages are very important factors that should not be ignored. A teacher should consider not only the traditions and customs of students he/she teaches but also the peculiarities of students’ native language as it can make language acquisition much more effective. Despite the fact that students may differ in race, religion or family background, these young people can also absorb information in a variety of ways. They can be accustomed to other teaching approaches, methods, ways of material presenting so it will take time to get used to everything new. A teacher should offer his students all the learning styles (auditory, visual, tactile etc.) for learners to grasp information better. When students are in a multilingual classroom with various nationalities, the students must learn to use only the English language. In order to help the students learn English, the teacher can use a variety of teaching tools such as a flash card or a dictionary to achieve this goal. Using a flashcard with a picture on it will provide a visual description for the student while the dictionary will help the student look up the meaning, pronunciation and usage of a particular word. One more important aspect is the prevalence of visual learning materials. As students can hardly understand the language, images can be more effective in acquiring new knowledge. Apart from difficulties in using a foreign language students may feel shy or unable to express their views because of the possibility not to be understood. Sometimes students might not know how to behave when a teacher is speaking, have no idea of group or pair work, will not understand the rules of games introduced. In conclusion, the relationship between a teacher and student is very important because the teacher is the driving force of the classroom. The teacher has to make sure that each student feels comfortable about learning and is nurtured during their learning experience as they acquire the necessary skills to be proficient in the language that they will be using. The way the teacher makes good use of different teaching techniques and methods available to them in the classroom will prove beneficial in motivating the students to want to learn, and as teachers, this is the goal we would like to achieve.
