This unit briefly outlines the main parts of English grammar. It was a good review of the basic grammar I was taught in school. It is important to understand the underlying principals of grammar to be able to teach English to non-English speakers. Many of these basic principals are second nature to native speakers but it is important to know the "rules" so that when students are having trouble and making mistakes, I as a teacher, can understand what is being misunderstood and thus be able to correct it.
