This unit covered a basic understanding of English grammar, specifically the parts of speech. These parts of speech included nouns, adjectives, verbs, prepositions, and pronouns. I find that knowing the types of verbs is especially helpful when teaching English because verb tenses are not universal. For example, the gerund form may not exist in some language so it will be important to know how to explain this.
