This unit went over the Tense System, the 3 different times considered in English, and broke down the Present concept of the system. We learned that within the Present concept of time in English, there are four aspects: the Simple, Continuous, Perfect, and Perfect Continuous. And within these aspects are even further forms of conceptualizing time in English such as the Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, and Present Perfect Continuous (the four we focused on this chapter) and many others. There are 12 forms of tense in all, which on its face seems really intimidating but can be explained through simple rules.
