In this unit, a review of the theories in ESL were outlined. This is important because we don’t usually look at theory as we focus on teaching. Most of the time, we only accept the given lesson plan as it is. Knowing these theories will help me to know how to add to the lesson plan. Moreover, the breakdown of engage, study, and activate is useful as it was supplemented with many activities. These activities also can help to expand the lesson plan. From my experience, we don’t have much control of the lesson plan. Knowing the parts of the lesson plan though can help us set appropriate objectives and provide appropriate guidance.
