In unit 3, we learned about the different methods of teaching English as a second language, including how popular they are currently and what sort of activities each of them contains. We then moved on to discuss the method advocated for TEFl teaching, Engage Study Activate. We examined what each of the phases for ESA teaching includes, and we looked at many different examples of teaching activities, lesson plans, and more. We ended the unit with discussing the importance of feedback and when it is appropriate to make corrections throughout an entire lesson plan. With unit 3, I learned more about what types of teaching will be most beneficial for my students and was provided with a great base for my own future lesson planning.
