Unit three is very applicable to teaching, offering lesson plan strategies, ordering, and potential ideas for worksheets and activities. At the core of this lesson was an in-depth understanding of an ESA lesson (Engage, Study, Activate). The engage stage allows students to warm up their English speaking abilities while the teacher gives them space to practice. Engagement seems like an organic and fun way to begin a lesson, allowing students to comment on a prompt or play interactive word games with the entire class. The study stage is important for understanding new concepts. During this stage, worksheets are helpful to drill new ideas while still being fun (i.e. word searches, hangman). In the final stage, students role-play, discuss, and really activate a cumulative skill-base. These three stages can be arranged in multiple ways to create a full lesson plan, ensuring each lesson begins with an engage stage and ends with an activate stage.
