This unit prepares teachers to better help learners understand how the english language is best pronounced. Having students become familiar with the phonemic chart is helpful when dealing with words that are very difficult for the average learner to pronounce. I've found the chart very useful in the past and plan on using it in the future. I've learned that charts are not a good method for teaching learners how to produce the sounds necessary to speak english correctly.
