This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
We have gained a great deal from this course! We now know how to work with differing levels of students and plan appropriate lessons for them, how to implement available technology and resources into lessons, how to work with special groups, have a variety of ideas for learning games and reinforcement activities, know how to plan and pace a lesson for a certain level of learning, specific grammar and functions, specific tenses and functions, and how to follow the ESA lesson plan format. We plan to use what we have learned through tefl in Chad, Africa as we begin a community center among Chadian Arabic and some french speaking people. Our family will be moving just outside of the capital in the middle of March to build relationships in the community where we will live and begin work in the community center teaching english through english classes, health classes, and technology classes. There is a great interest in learning to speak, write and read in english in this community and we are excited to use what we have learned through this course to teach our students the english language.
