Personally I have gained many things, but I think the most important thing is self confidence in my abilities. Being a young mother in a foreign country with no previous schooling can be very discouraging as your prospects for work are very low. I have also gained a wide array of knowledge and respect for learning a language. I have taken German courses but I can honestly say that learning from scratch is much easier then relearning your mother language the proper way. Learning the rules that you automatically do is very difficult and even confusing, but I did it, I managed to find time in this hectic part of my life to learn something new, useful and very important, and with that comes a sense of pride and self accomplishment.
