Acquiring language is not something that happens by studying it out of a book. It doesn't even happen by asking the name of each word one at a time. It happens through exposure in a variety of mediums. I understand that the formula to developing language skills is to present lessons in a variety of situations and teach vocabulary that students would actually use. Lessons must contain variety and this topic has further developed my understanding of how to approach teaching a class.
