Unit 6 concentrated on Professional Development. The unit began by discussing cultural differences and norms when working in other countries. It provided a list of questions that one should be able to answer about the country they will be working in. Included as well were some dos and don’ts when in another country to avoid insensitivity. The unit provided practical information related to how to look for and secure employment. It included a comprehensive list of questions one can use to ask potential employers. The unit included a how to write a cover letter and provided an example of an actual resume and cover letter template. The unit also included websites and various other resources to assist in job searches. The unit concluded with a discussion on professional development. Professional development that is on going is important since the ELL teachers needs to be knowledgeable and current with up to date methods
