This unit talked about receptive skills and how to teach them. Reading and listening are the two types of receptive skills and we use them with purpose or for entertainment. Both these skills are equally important. I also learned about the five ways we read and listen. I learned that pre-teaching some difficult vocabulary words is a good way to make a receptive skill lesson go more smoothly because you will not be stuck on the vocabulary rather than what you are trying to teach.
