As grammar becomes more and more complicated teachers need an understanding of the these concepts to complete thier knowledge of the languange. Modal verbs are used to define deffernt conditions of speech and put more emphasis on the meaning of the language. It´s one thing to say something but raw communication is just the basis of the english language. Students should be taught these verbs so that they can make the most meaning of thier sentences. As with the active and passive voice sometimes it´s more import to know who is perfoming the actions than the action being performend. With the passive voice we have a way to stress the action and the consequences of that action without being concerned as to who is performing them
