In this unit I learned reasons to create a lesson plan: a. to create a logical sequence for the lesson b. to create a guide for me to follow to keep on track during the session c. to create a record of what was covered in the lesson for future reference d. to ensure that if someone needs to take over the class they will know what to cover e. to provide a cumulative record of what has been covered. Creating a lesson plan also allows me to anticipate possible problems and think through and prepare solutions in the event that they occur. It also enables me to strive to continually improve my teaching through setting personal goals for myself. The task sheet also helped me to understand better what is required in preparing for a lesson with respect to the resources that will be needed. I think that as I learn more about preparing lessons I will become more confident in my ability and skills.
