I gained a great deal from this course, the least of which is found in its review of basic grammar points which I have lost or forgotten as time goes by. I learned a great deal about the dual role each teacher will play in the classroom, whether it's found in the role of assessor, which includes giving feedback and correction as well as evaluating and grading, or in the role of the prompter, where the teacher individually evaluates whether the students should work out their problems themselves or by gently encourage the students along. I learned a great deal about classroom management where a teacher's physical presence in a classroom can also convey a great deal to a student. For instance, when a teacher is sitting, the classroom environment can become less domineering and more relaxed. While sitting, a teacher can relax control of the classroom. I have personally adopted this approach in my own classrooms. The greatest help offered in this course is perhaps from its extensive review on writing and planning individual lessons. As a teacher, I found that to be effective, one needs to be very detailed when planning his or her lessons. I teach absolute and false beginners, and have found that to effectively engage their interest and motivate them in their learning, my lessons should not only be detailed but very game centered. The games introduced for the different phases of teaching throughout the course, have been both helpful and incredibly effective.
