TEFL Pepperbox Delaware

I have gained a great deal from this course. I have learned a huge amount about grammar, especially with regards to parts of speech, tenses and voices. It's a bit weird, since I'm a native speaker that was schooled in the US, but I was never taught any of that when I was a kid, so that was all pretty much new to me, and I'd run into troubles before in learning foreign languages when the teachers would refer to english parts of speech. So I went from being mostly clueless to having a good enough handle on them that I'd be confident enough to teach them. I also learned a great deal about teacher techniques, games, and activities. Being a huge fan of games of all sorts I am especially excited about these and am eager to use some of the new ones that I have learned in class. I have gone from basically no lesson planning at all, to being very comfortable with making a lesson plan. Throughout the course of this class I have had to make quite a few lesson plans, and while at the beginning they were very time consuming and troublesome, by now I don't have much trouble with them, and I understand the importance of them, and would be very comfortable making them for my own classes in the future. Additionally I have learned a good amount on course books, and other materials that can be used in class. Previously I had used a coursebook before, but not many other outside materials and I realize more now how useful they can really be. I think maybe the most important thing though that I have learned from this class though is a deeper understanding into students and the problems students learning english face. This in particular I think is significant as I think it can definitely help me become a better teacher. Overall, I have learned a lot from this course, from technical grammar to lesson planning, and I'm very glad with it and firmly believe that this course will have helped me become a better teacher.
