I have gained so much from this course. One of the most important things that I have learned about is lesson planning. Lesson planning had always seemed like a daunting task from the moment I began thinking about teaching esl. When I researched online about teaching, I was overwhelmed by the differing opinions of what makes a good lesson plan. There were so many different formats and so many different ideas that it really was confusing to me. Taking this course has given me a starting point for planning lessons. Now, at the end of this course, I feel comfortable with making lesson plans and can now sort through all of the ideas I read about online to find what fits with what I'm trying to teach my students. I can also understand and appreciate the value of lesson planning. When I eventually step into an esl classroom, I will definitely feel more prepared for teaching.
