As a teacher we take for granted the information we already know and we tend not to analyze how we necessarily perceive it. This particular unit helped clarify how students may perceive and understand the information that is displayed to them. As a teacher this is an important task especially when planning lessons. We need to make sure that we use a variety of medias and ways to help students extract different types of meaning and provide appropriate scaffolding for all students regardless of their english proficiency levels.
