This unit provided an overview of the skills involved in teaching the expressive language skills of speaking and writing. Helpful guidelines were provided around when to focus on accuracy versus fluency activities. Subtle differences between spoken and written english were highlighted. The unit also focused on ideas for helping teachers generate interest in linguistic tasks through the use of popular games. I learned how to think about using games in non-conventional ways!
