This unit really helped to me to gain a better understanding of the various different modal auxiliary verbs and the different myriad uses of them in context. In addition I found the section regarding passive and active voice very helpful to clarify the distinctions between the 2 different voices used in the english language and I think it really helped me to be able to quickly identify each. Finally the clause section was also useful in opening my eyes to this particular area of study and whilst independent and dependent causes are relatively easy to understand I feel that further study will be required to be able to effectively understand identify and to teach relative clauses.
