This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit dealt with teaching receptive skills as it highlighted reading and listening. It disclosed its purposes and problems teaching the language. It dealt with strategies which may be able to motivate and build build confidence within the learner. This topic was particularly important as sometimes we select topics which may be on interest to only one set of individuals or one that we find interest in and not so much the learner. This proved to be an inhibitor for the learners' receptive skills. Being conscious of these factors when choosing our lessons will engage our learners and make them more receptive towards the language.
